Most people who head to BOSCH are DIY enthusiasts looking for the latest gadgets and gizmos.

But not 2008 Belgrave Heights Christian School (BHCS) graduate, Daniel Simmons.

Claiming the title of BHCS’ first dux with an ATAR of 91.85, Simmons was naturally a high achiever.

With a fancy for computer science, little did he know this interest would launch him into a career of pioneering innovate technology as one of BOSCH’s automotive software engineers.

“I’m quite enjoying it,” says Simmons. “It’s funny to think that when I was in year 12, I wasn’t even thinking of going to university.”

Seven years on, Simmons now has a double degree in a Bachelor of Engineering (Robotics and Mechatronics) and Science (Computer Software and Software Engineering) under his belt as well as a full-time position at BOSCH.

From a cohort of eight students to a business consisting of over 1,200 engineers, many would consider he has ‘made it’.

But Simmons ambitions do not finish here.

“I never want to stop learning. I want to keep solving interesting problems which can help make people’s lives better,” says Simmons. “It is what God has made me to do.”
