PROFILE: OLLY GREEN
Recently we had the chance to catch up with Olly, and see what life has been like for him since he completed Year 12 at BHCS three years ago (2012). Many of you who know him, know he was a great addition to the BHCS crew, bringing joy to those who surround him, and always ready with a joke. He is one of the reasons the students now dress up in costumes at every event they can!
Life has been difficult for Olly, and his family, since he finished School. After a long and courageous battle, his mum pass away in early March, 2014. This, amongst other set backs, forced him to put his life on hold and not pursue the things he wanted to do.
When imagining life outside of School, Olly thought he would be travelling overseas, or even studying at uni… this isn’t what he is up to now – but who knows what the future holds! Eventually he plans to enroll in uni and study teaching.
Currently, Olly works at the Tree Tops Café at BHCS. You should pop in and say hi! The café has amazing food, and Olly makes great coffees!
While he was in Year 11, he completed a mission tour to Thailand with Maranatha. What a great experience! Some of his favourite memories from School would have to be the staff vs student sports matched. “Although we never won, they were always a great laugh.”
I think many of us can agree with Olly when he says the thing he misses the most were the people – both students and staff. Although, he does miss the students from his Year Level, now that he is working at BHCS, missing the teachers is no longer a factor – he sees them every work day!
We love seeing Olly here at the School, and are sure he would love to see you drop in for a coffee. You may even see some of your old teachers!
All the best with your future studies Olly. You are one tough cookie!
