PROFILE: RACHAEL NAK
Rachael joined us at BHCS from Year 7 to 9, and left in 2007 to move to Queensland with her family. She finished the rest of her schooling at Mountain Creek State high School, with a graduating class of 398 people (“it was a crazy big school!!”).
Straight from school, Rachael went to Uni (University of The Sunshine Coast) to study a Bachelor of Nursing Science, which is something she has always wanted to do. Rachael graduated in 2014, and next week will be starting a job at the Hervey Bay Hospital as a registered nurse doing her graduate year. So exciting! However, this means moving out of home and away from her family for the first time (2.5hours north along the coast).
Life is so crazy and living in a different state has made it hard for Rachael to keep in contact with school friends. Especially having moved to MCSHS and getting a shock at how big the school was, she has missed the small and family oriented feel of BHCS.
“If I could share any of my wisdom it would… never stop believing or striving for what you want. There shouldn’t be anything that holds you back from you reaching your full potential. My parents are / have both been mature age students & are just now achieving there dreams.”
It was awesome to hear from Rachael and we are excited to hear about the new adventures she is stepping into. All the best for your grad year, new job and new home!
